Erik and Consuelo (Norway/USA) are recognized internationally for the quality of their performances and teaching. These are highly educated dancers that understand dance movement and proper technique to the fingertips. They are the teachers that educate and certify the salsa instructors in the National Dance Association in Norway. They are experts on teaching dance in a fun and simple way at any level.

Their dance training include Salsa/Mambo, Argentine Tango, standard and latin ballroom dances, Swing, African, Dunham Technique (modern dance technique), jazz ballet and Street Jazz, etc.

The couple have thaught and performed at many international salsa dance events/congresses such as in Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, China, Taiwan, Sweden, Warzaw Poland, Chez Republic, Finland, Philadelphia USA, etc. They have performed at several events in New York City, such as famous Club Cache on Times Square. They placed among the top ten couples at the World Open Salsa Championship in Puerto Rico.

Erik and Consuelo have received valuable training from some the best instructors in the world such as US champion of Latin (mambo) Edgar Osorio, Eddie Torres - 'the mambo king', Frankie Martinez (New York), Pasi and Maria (Finland), Ambrosia (Russia), Beijing Dance Academy, etc. They are certified instructors of standard and latin dances, and are listed as instructors on SalsaNewYork.com. Besides regular dance classes Erik and Consuelo are also known for their "Dance Core Technique"- classes that include pilates, yoga, ballet and african dance. E and C currently live in Beijing, China where they are dancing and choreographing for Crative Kingdom, teaching dance at one of the biggest salsa schools in Asia, and continue to study dance. Here is the new Erik and Consuelo website

The couple
Erik is from Norway, Consuelo was born in Mexico and grew up in USA. They found each other on the dance floor in 2002 at the world Salsa Congress in Los Angeles. They married in 2003, moved to Norway and started dancing, studying and teaching together. The result of their effort is the big salsa scene in Tromsø today, including the dance group Salsa Frio Dancers. E and C put focus on making people so skilled and confident that they go out to enjoy dancing after taking classes. They are the instructors that introduced New York style (on2) salsa and bachata dancing to Tromsø.

- Consuelo from USA is a trained dancer. -
Before she moved from USA, she was a salsa performer and instructor. She was a member of Salvaje Dance Company in Arizona, one of the finest salsa dance companies i the states, known from international events such as the world congress in Los Angeles. Consuelo is a talented and trained dancer. She started studying dance in highschol in 1993 and performed ballet and Mexican folklore for 4 years. She later recieved formal dance training from college in Oregon, where she studied ballet, jazz and hip hop. She is by many considered the best female salsa dancer in Norway. Since 2003 she has devoted 100 % of her time to learning and studying dance. She master numerous dance diciplines for example African dance, and also pilates and yoga.

- Erik also has his dance background from USA. -
However, he had absolutely no dance background before he got involved in salsa. With no talent for dance, but a strong will to learn, Erik has worked very hard to understand dance movements and how to operate the body. He is now a trained and educated dancer with a great understanding of what the dancer is doing, how to learn it and how to teach it. He has formal training from top international instructors, and has gathered a solid dance experience. Because of many years experience as a professor of economics at the univeristy, Erik is known for his ability to teach in a fun, easy and inspiring way. In January 2007 he jumped off his academic career to become a full time dancer/instructor.
