iL Mare åpnet med Latin Jazz Bar på lørdager i september 2005. Vi har nå et utested som er unikt. Det er stil, det er smil, og gjengen av dansere har blitt stor! Ikke mange salsa steder i verden har gratis inngang heller!

iL Mare on Saturdays is a salsa spot by salsa dancers for salsa dancers and others interested in salsa. People come her to dance, listen to the music, or just hang out and watch. For us salsa is not about taking classes - it's about what comes after. Tromsø Salsa Association is hosting salsa-nights at il Mare every Saturday night! Now you can experience what salsa really is about - even up here in Tromsø! We call the concept "Latin Jazz Bar", and we use experience from many of the most popular salsa clubs around the world such as in New York and London. We occasionally arrange special events with theme-parties and dance shows

"Å kunne gå ut å danse i helgene er den beste grunnen til å ta kurs. Ikke bare det, det er den mest effektive måten å bli flink på fort. På et utested med salsa kan du oppleve hva salsa handler om. Atmosfæren er unik, og det er musikken også. Du tar en drink, det er endelig helg. Rytmene dundrer rett i brystkassa på deg og derfra begynner det å rykke i bena. Du vet at alle andre føler det samme, det er bare å by opp til dans og nyte rytmene med en annen. Du vil like å bli bydd opp til dans, og andre vil like at du byr opp dem. "

Grattis til alle med en flott feiring av ettårs-jubileet til iL Mare sist lørdag! WOW! Det var noe helt annet enn da vi åpnet for ett år siden, med lånt cd-spiller, et knøttlite dansegulv og temmelig få som kunne danse. Vi må også gratulere vår nye Salsa DJ Jan Tore med en super-debut! Han fikk flere ganger spontan applaus. Salsadansere som gjestet oss fra Stavanger og Oslo mener at iL Mare er norges triveligste salsa sted! Bilder
