Level 3 |
January
20.-February 17. 2005 19.30-21.00, swingeriet
First we teach you to understand the music that is called salsa.
The music that we, today, call Salsa is exciting and infectious,
rhythmically charged and we will make you understand why it is
perfect for dancing. To be able to dance well you need to learn
how to dance in time with the music. After you learn how to listen
to the beats of the music, we will cover the fundamental steps
in class and practice.
A set of shines (which means solo steps) will be covered in class
to get you in rhythm and make you become in time with the music.
Before you ask somebody to dance, you need to be in control of
your own step and your own body so you can dance in harmony with
your partner. When dancing with somebody, you want to avoid pulling
and pushing and stepping into each other. A good thing with shines
is that you will be able to practice on your own and become a
better dancer even without a partner. Also you will soon notice
that it will become more fun to dance to commercial music in the
disco as well :)
When you master the basic step you will learn to connect with
a partner.
In all partner dances there is one person (the man) who leads,
and one person (the lady) that follows. We believe that from the
very beginning, having a clear understanding of leading and following
will make your dance look and feel smooth gracious, controlled
and relaxed. Exercises will be covered in class to build a good
communication (without words) between you and your partner. You
will learn partner moves and combinations of moves
Practice what you learn in class by yourself (remember: You do
not need a partner!). We will make sure that it is easy for you
to remember the sequence you are given in class. As in all skills
you try to aquire : "Repetition is the key to perfection".
The weekly "Salsa night" is specially arranged for people
to have a place for unformal practice. At "Salsa nigh"
you can and should dance with many different partners at different
levels. If the foundation is good, everything will follow.
February 22.-March 22. 2005 18.30-20,
Salsa Frio dance studio
Our classes focus a lot on techniques, making you able to learn
very fast, and able to dance with anybody, not only those who
took the class with you. In this level we will build different
combinations as we teach new technicalities within each class.
In level 2 the music will span from medium to fast tempo. This
class will introduce you to more partnerwork and shines, but main
focus will be partner work and combinations. After this class
you will notice that you are able to learn new things very fast.
New partner things will not be a "headbreaker" and you
will be able to copy moves after only a short demonstration (you
will be able to copy the 'moves of the month' from tromsosalsa.com!
coming soon).
After the end of the session, you will be able to dance with confidence
and have fun on the dancefloor, and you will be excited to learn
more. Not to forget, you will have a lot of new friends :)
Not schedulet yet, Salsa Frio dance studio
After the second level you will have no reason to stop. If you
do, your investment will simply become a cost..
During these five weeks you will learn new technicalities and
we will teach you longer combinations and shines. You will learn
how to use shines in your dancing, adding another dimension for
you. This class will introduce you to casino rueda - a fun group
dance. |
